Metanomy Inc. is a Colorado Nonprofit Corporation formed to provide research and development of technologies that help communities communicate. We believe that information and communication technology (ICT) is central to community resilience.

We also understand that technology is a tool and not a solution. We have a deep operational background here at Metanomy and realize that developing technology in the context in which it will be used is as important as the technology itself. So, we spend a bunch of time in the field making sure what we make works for those that rely on it.

And we do consider communities to be both the virtual and geographical sort. Our current focus is Drupal development that allows geographically distant communities to communicate as a strong virtual community. But this is just a start.

These Drupal capabilities will serve as a core software component that will be part of a complete technology infrastructure. This technology infrastructure will be an entire light weight, modular system - Power, Sensors, Networks, Hardware and Software. It will consist of Open Source Software and Commercial Off The Shelf hardware; it will scale to provide services to Communities of all shapes and sizes; and we will make every effort to provide you with the information you need to build any of it yourself.
